AimOn the Zen's screen: AIM ASSIST

Aim Assist (Sticky)

Nudges the right stick down, right, up and left in a tiny loop while you hold L2.

What it does

While you hold L2, Aim Assist (Sticky) nudges your right stick in a small loop: down, then right, then up, then left, over and over. Each nudge lasts TIME milliseconds, so one loop takes 4 × TIME.

The nudges go on top of your own aim. Players use this kind of movement to keep a game's built-in aim assist active; how much it helps depends on the game.

Each nudge is STRENGTH ÷ 5 percent of the stick's full tilt, so the default 50 gives 10%. The more you're already pushing the stick that way, the smaller the nudge: at rest you get all of it, at full tilt none. That way it never fights a big aim movement.

When it runs

Only while you hold L2, by any amount. It does nothing when you fire from the hip. After you let go of L2 it finishes the loop it's on (at most 4 × TIME).

Settings

In the order the Zen shows them. Each label is exactly what you'll see on its screen.

  1. 1.

    ENABLED

    Values
    OFF or ON
    Default
OFF, unless you turned on “Default ON” for this mod in the generator.

Switches the mod on or off. The screen shows ON or OFF; press D-pad left or right to flip it.

  2. 2.

    STRENGTH

    Per profile
    Range
    0 to 100
    Default
    50
    Each press
    ±1

How big each nudge is: STRENGTH ÷ 5 percent of the stick, rounded down. 50 gives 10%, 100 gives 20%, and anything under 5 gives 0, which does nothing.

    • Raise it: Bigger nudges, so more visible shake.
    • Lower it: Smaller nudges and a steadier reticle. It only changes in steps of 5: 50 to 54 all feel the same.
  3. 3.

    TIME

    Range
    5 to 60
    Default
    20
    Unit
    ms
    Each press
    ±1

How long each of the four nudges is held, in milliseconds. At the default 20, one full loop takes 80 ms.

    • Raise it: A slower loop. Each nudge lasts longer, so the view usually moves a little further each way.
    • Lower it: A faster loop with shorter nudges: a quicker, finer shake.

Tune it in-game

Mods pause while the menu is open, so close it each time you want to test a change, then open it again to adjust.

  1. Hold L2 and press OPTIONS to open the menu.

  2. Press D-pad up or down until the screen shows AIM ASSIST, then press Cross.

  3. On ENABLED, press D-pad right so it shows ON.

  4. Press D-pad down to STRENGTH and leave it at 50 for your first test.

  5. Close the menu, aim at something that isn't moving and watch the reticle.

  6. If the shake is too strong, lower STRENGTH by 5. If you can't see anything, raise it by 5.

  7. Then try TIME: lower it for a faster shake, raise it for a slower one. Change one setting at a time.

  8. When you're happy, hold L2 and press OPTIONS to close the menu. Your settings save to the Zen.

Weapon profiles

With weapon profiles on, hold L2 and press D-pad left or right to switch profile. On Aim Assist (Sticky), these settings have their own value in each profile:

  • STRENGTH
  • In the generator, turn on Weapon profiles and name 2 or 3 profiles, for example one per gun. The settings marked “Per profile” then get their own value in each profile.
  • In-game, with the menu closed, hold L2 and press D-pad right for the next profile or D-pad left for the one before. The Zen shows PROFILE and the profile's name for a moment and gives a short rumble.
  • The menu always edits the active profile. On these mods the bottom right of the Zen's screen shows the active profile's name, so you know which one you're changing.
  • To tune a gun: switch to its profile, open the menu, change the values, then close the menu. Repeat for the next gun.
  • The Zen remembers which profile you were on, even after a restart. While you hold L2, D-pad left and right switch profiles and don't reach the game.
  • Each per-profile setting uses one save slot per profile. The Zen has 20, and the generator shows how many your build uses. Past 20, settings still work but go back to their built-in values when the Zen restarts.

Tips and conflicts

  • Start low. A small shake is easier to control.
  • Because it gets smaller the more you push the right stick, big turns feel almost the same as without it.
  • Switch ENABLED OFF and back ON to compare with and without.

Conflicts

  • Polar Aim Assist also moves the right stick while you aim. The two stack, so use one, or lower both (STRENGTH here and RADIUS there).

Build it in the generator

Switch on Aim Assist (Sticky) under Mods, set your starting values (and Default ON if you want it on from the start), then download your script. You can still change every value on the Zen afterwards.
