RecoilOn the Zen's screen: PROG RECOIL

Progressive Anti-Recoil

A recoil pull that starts at one value on the first shot and eases to another over a set time.

What it does

Recoil often isn't the same through a whole spray. Progressive Anti-Recoil starts each spray at V START and moves in a straight line to V END over RAMP milliseconds. After that it stays at V END until you stop.

Sideways works the same way, from H START to H END. Below 0 pulls left, above 0 pulls right.

With the defaults, the first shot gets a pull of 35, about 29 after 0.4 seconds, and 22 from 0.8 seconds on.

The timer goes back to zero whenever you let go of R2 or L2, so each new spray starts at V START. Like Anti-Recoil, it adds to your own stick and stops pulling while you push the right stick 45% or more in any direction.

When it runs

Only while you hold both L2 and R2. Letting go of either one starts the ramp again from the beginning.

Settings

In the order the Zen shows them. Each label is exactly what you'll see on its screen.

  1. 1.

    ENABLED

    Values
    OFF or ON
    Default
OFF, unless you turned on “Default ON” for this mod in the generator.

Switches the mod on or off. The screen shows ON or OFF; press D-pad left or right to flip it.

  2. 2.

    V START

    Per profile
    Range
    0 to 100
    Default
    35
    Unit
    % of stick
    Each press
    ±1

Downward pull on the first shot, in percent of the stick.

    • Raise it: A stronger pull at the start. Raise it if the first shots go over the target.
    • Lower it: A lighter start. Lower it if the first shots dip under the target.
  3. 3.

    V END

    Per profile
    Range
    0 to 100
    Default
    22
    Unit
    % of stick
    Each press
    ±1

Downward pull once the ramp is over. It can be higher than V START if your gun climbs harder later in the spray.

    • Raise it: A stronger pull for the rest of the spray.
    • Lower it: A lighter pull for the rest of the spray.
  4. 4.

    RAMP

    Per profile
    Range
    100 to 3000
    Default
    800
    Unit
    ms
    Each press
    ±50

How long it takes to go from the start values to the end values, in milliseconds.

    • Raise it: The pull changes more slowly, so the start values last longer into the spray.
    • Lower it: The pull reaches the end values sooner.
  5. 5.

    H START

    Per profile
    Range
    -50 to 50
    Default
    0
    Unit
    % of stick
    Each press
    ±1

Sideways pull on the first shot. Below 0 pulls left, above 0 pulls right.

    • Raise it: More pull to the right at the start.
    • Lower it: More pull to the left at the start.
  6. 6.

    H END

    Per profile
    Range
    -50 to 50
    Default
    0
    Unit
    % of stick
    Each press
    ±1

Sideways pull once the ramp is over.

    • Raise it: More pull to the right later in the spray.
    • Lower it: More pull to the left later in the spray.

Tune it in-game

Mods pause while the menu is open, so close it each time you want to test a change, then open it again to adjust.

  1. Hold L2 and press OPTIONS to open the menu.

  2. Press D-pad up or down until the screen shows PROG RECOIL, then press Cross.

  3. On ENABLED, press D-pad right so it shows ON.

  4. Set V START and V END to the same number first, for example 25. That's a flat pull, like Anti-Recoil.

  5. Close the menu, aim at a fixed point and spray without touching the right stick. Change both numbers together until the middle of the spray stays level.

  6. Now watch the first shots. If they still climb, raise V START. If they dip, lower it.

  7. Watch the end of the spray and tune V END the same way.

  8. If the change from start to end comes too early or too late, adjust RAMP.

  9. Only then set H START and H END, if the spray drifts sideways.

  10. When you're happy, hold L2 and press OPTIONS to close the menu. Your settings save to the Zen.

Weapon profiles

With weapon profiles on, hold L2 and press D-pad left or right to switch profile. On Progressive Anti-Recoil, these settings have their own value in each profile:

  • V START
  • V END
  • RAMP
  • H START
  • H END
  • In the generator, turn on Weapon profiles and name 2 or 3 profiles, for example one per gun. The settings marked “Per profile” then get their own value in each profile.
  • In-game, with the menu closed, hold L2 and press D-pad right for the next profile or D-pad left for the one before. The Zen shows PROFILE and the profile's name for a moment and gives a short rumble.
  • The menu always edits the active profile. On these mods the bottom right of the Zen's screen shows the active profile's name, so you know which one you're changing.
  • To tune a gun: switch to its profile, open the menu, change the values, then close the menu. Repeat for the next gun.
  • The Zen remembers which profile you were on, even after a restart. While you hold L2, D-pad left and right switch profiles and don't reach the game.
  • Each per-profile setting uses one save slot per profile. The Zen has 20, and the generator shows how many your build uses. Past 20, settings still work but go back to their built-in values when the Zen restarts.

Tips and conflicts

  • Tap-firing starts the ramp again on every tap, so each tap uses V START.
  • RAMP is the time from the first shot to the end values, not the length of your spray. After it, the pull stays at the end values.
  • With weapon profiles on, all five values can be different for each gun.

Conflicts

  • Anti-Recoil: use only one. With both ON this mod's pull replaces Anti-Recoil's (both start from your own stick position, and this one runs second), so Anti-Recoil's values do nothing. Turn one OFF.

Build it in the generator

Switch on Progressive Anti-Recoil under Mods, set your starting values (and Default ON if you want it on from the start), then download your script. You can still change every value on the Zen afterwards.
